Chapter Philanthropy and Service
The Kappa Tau Chapter raises money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness.
In the 2019 Spring semester, Kappa Tau raised $13,993 for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness! We are striving to raise even more in the Fall Semester.
Other annual events include:
- Crown Classic: This is a school-wide, co-ed flag football tournament held by Zeta Tau Alpha to raise money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness.
- Dodge Cancer: This is a school-wide, co-ed dodgeball tournament held by Zeta Tau Alpha to raise money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. Teams pay a registration fee which goes towards the total money raises.
- Kiss-Away-Cancer: This is a tabling event held by Zeta Tau Alpha to raise money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. Participants apply lipstick and kiss the banner with any donation of their choice.
- Bra Bash: Greek organizations decorate bras as a competition to help Zeta Tau Alpha raise money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. ZTA holds a tabling event to display the bras and allows the FGCU community to vote for his/her favorite by placing a monetary donation into the jar representing the Greek organization.
- Bright Pink Workshops: Educational workshops arranged with Bright Pink to educate the local community on Ovarian and Breast Cancer and spread awareness.
- Mac 'n Z's: This is a school-wide event catered by Boston Market. Guests enjoy a Mac 'n Cheese Buffet in order to raise money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness.
- Proceeds Night: Each month we hold events at local restaurants open to the community and a percentage of the money is given back to our Philanthropy.
- Crown Carnival: This is an on campus, carnival style, school-wide event with carnival games and raffles held by Zeta Tau Alpha to raise money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness.
We also participate in many service events such as Adopt a Highway, Relay for Life, Dance Marathon, and Habitat for Humanity, as well as all of the other Greek community's philanthropy events like Derby Days, Fireman Challenge, and Greek Week!
